What I should be doing vs What I want to do

I have lots to do today, like: study, do homework, start my papers, & attend our first Financial Peace University class (we are trying to be proactive about our finances and I really pretty excited about this one actually). But, no matter what, I find my mind drifting to other topics making studying, trying to write my papers or just concentrating impossible - so frustrating. I think maybe I'm having a late onset of ADD...I'm not sure if that's even possible though - lol! Here's what I'm thinking about:
Having a Spa Day

Playing with my Lab Puppy...yes, that would be the Lab we don't have yet

Relaxing on the beach with a good book & cool drink

Exploring the streets of Italy

Sipping coffee with Kevin at this adorable cafe - in what looks like warm weather
Napping outside in this comfy hammock/daybed

Just hanging out with my husband

What about you? Any problems staying on task? Any suggestions on how to keep my concentration on one thing???

Haha I am having the SAME problem today at work. I can't seem to be productive, whatsoever! I'm sure it isn't helping that I'm blogging either!!

I'm like that almost everyday here lately! I think it's something in the water. I'm itching for spring to get here and it's making me distracted. I have been dreaming about Hawaii and the beach like crazy.. I really just want to go swimming and tan. If I could do that then I think I would be better.

That dog is ADORABLE!! You must get a new little puppy! They are so fun!

Oh my goodness all those things look so amazing! I wish I was doing them right now too!

I wish I could help ya on the staying-on-task issue - but I am seriously the worst at this too.

Also - that's really cool that you're going to the Financial Peace class, my husband was thinking about becoming a Dave Ramsey advisor. You'll have to post about what you think of the class!

Out of all those pictures I mostly just want one of those Christys...however I would get the puppy too if I could have two things. Miss you baby!

I was trying to finish my homework from my Beth Moore Esther workbook. (Class was this evening)

Danny was home and had the tv on [really loud] and I couldn't concentrate. I told him I couldn't imagine going back to school at my age. :)

I'm sorry I have not suggestions. I'll be checking the comments though for help for myself.

I'm dreaming of being on the beach with a cool drink. That was what sounded So awesome to me right now. I'm ready for warm weather.

Yeah, Christy if you ever get the opportunity to do the Esther study you would really love it.
I think it might be a little much right now for you anyway, with homework you already have.
I do like doing the workbook, but I got behind this past week and the weekend was so busy.
I think it's great that you and Kevin are doing the financial peace. I've heard really good things about it.

I keep forgetting to tell you that I'm glad Christina had a good shower. It looked so nice. When is her baby due? I know she was happy you made the quick, long trip here for the shower. How fun!

I'm getting groggy and feel like I'm starting to not make sense. ;) So....I'm off to bed.

Talk to ya later Christy.

All of those things you described sound so luxurious and fun! Plus the pictures that accompany them are gorgeous! My only suggestion when I'm trying to stay on task is to shut down all computers/tvs/music and make a quick list of your priorities. Then simply go down the list, one thing at a time. Seeing it down in front of you and being able to cross it off helps sometimes! Good luck!!

I laugh when I read your comment life after nursing school... all though school I wondered what it would be like to have so much time on my hands and guess what it is great! Good luck and let me know how it goes. But I have to tell you that I've never been more happy to be a nurse than I have in the last couple of months, it's a great job and if you don't like the area you are working in then there are a thousand different places you can go. Second, it's the most secure job (minus bankruptcy lawyers) right now. I'm going to think of some good ER advice to give you today while I'm at work, how long are you in the ER?

By the way, Did FPU, it's was heaven sent. We did it before the market went bad. We didn't have much debt, minus the house and cars (which one car is now paid off) we used it as a tool and I'm very thankful we did. So stick with it.

I give myself rewards. Like if I do something around the house I can do something fun. It seems to trick me into doing more.
